Bucket Clamps
Doherty Engineered Attachments Ltd
Bucket Clamps
Doherty Engineered Attachments offer two types of Clamp design. Both are suitable for use with a bucket, a rake or even a ripper to provide a handy "Thumb Clamping Force" when handling large or odd shaped materials which will not fit in a bucket.
The CLI Range is a fully self-contained clamp which simply attaches to the underside of the dipper arm. Just connect up the control hoses through a cross line relieve valve and you are ready to go.

This style of clamp is very compact when folded and has a 120 degree useful clamping arc.

The CLP Range includes a longer replacement pin for your excavator’s dipper arm. Pivoting the clamp on the same pin as your bucket or hitch offers a significant advantage in that the clamp or pinch point remains constant no matter what angle the bucket is crowded to.

All Doherty Clamps feature the following as standard:
• Heavy duty cylinders with spherical bush mounting and each end
• Induction hardened pivot and cylinder pins
• Replaceable hardened steel bushes with integral grease tracks
• Purpose designed polyethylene buffers to eliminate direct contact with the dipper arm
• Rigid Hi Tensile and GR350 steel construction

Demo and Forestry Grabs
Doherty Engineered Attachments Ltd
Demo and Forestry Grabs
Our range of Excavator Grabs spans 6 to 50 tonnes and can be configured with forestry or demolition jaws. These units are suitable for use with all types of quick couplers and require no additional hydraulics. Self-aligning strut pin design simplifies the fit up and makes it an easy one-man job.

Powerdig Cleaning Buckets
Doherty Engineered Attachments Ltd
Powerdig Cleaning Buckets
The Doherty Engineered range of standard Cleaning Buckets are a result of extensive field research. The design ensures minimal bucket to product contact when digging which substantially increases bucket life. The use of horizontal wear strips on the curved floor and the selection of wear resistant steels result in a bucket design which has minimal wear and maximum life.
Doherty cleaning buckets are available as a direct mount or Powerdig series. Direct mount models are fitted with traditional mount ears and bosses for use with removable pins.

The Powerdig series is designed for use with a quick coupler. The mounting pins are recessed into the main head bean of the bucket to ensure a short tip radius and maximum breakout. The Powerdig series are only suitable for use with a quick coupler as the mounting pins are welded into the bucket.

Ripper Buckets
Ripper Buckets are out-performing conventional units in heavy-duty quarry work. This combination of established design and local application knowledge ensures maximum bucket life and minimal down time.

Spades
Doherty Engineered Attachments Ltd
Spades
Doherty Engineered Attachments have developed a range of Spade Buckets for use in precision trenching operations. They are also ideal for use with sticky materials which tend to build up in a conventional bucket shell.
A feature of the Spade range is the ability to fit wider inserts to the base Spade Frame which is normally the narrowest width available. This means that there is no need to go to the expense of purchasing a complete new spade to dig a wider trench – just buy the appropriate insert which quickly bolts onto the base unit.

In order to keep the changeover process as simple as possible Doherty’s have designed a simple two bolt attachment on the protected back side of the insert. Other brands typically use a bolt through the cutting edge but these are prone to damage making changeovers slow and frustrating.

DOHERTY BEAM GRABS (GBB SERIES)
Doherty Engineered Attachments Ltd
DOHERTY BEAM GRABS (GBB SERIES)
Designed specifically for the safe handling of structural steel beams. The fully enclosed clamping unit provides and constant clamping speed and force – something that is impossible on a normal cylinder operated grapple – but is essential to permit precise positioning without damage or compromising safety. All GBB grabs feature soft replaceable gripper pads which provide superior grapping power without damaging the steel surface coating.
The GBB140 shown below is designed to operate with a tilt rotator coupler which has two auxillary circuits. This allows the grab to rotate continuously while at the same time tilting 40 degrees left or right. In addition the full crowd range of the excavator is available to provide fore and aft tilt.

This grab and its unique mounting was designed specifically for the placement of heavy steel beams in an underground mining operation. Because of the tunnel limitations, all beams had to placed from underneath as no slinging from a crane was possible.  Using a fully proportional electro hydraulic control system to operate the grab functions, this Doherty design safely positioned all vertical, horizontal and diagonal beams to a +/- 5mm accuracy in record time and was awarded a Queensland Innovation in Safety Award.

Here is another example of a custom built Doherty Grab. This unit is designed for the removal and replacement of “stop logs” which are used to control water levels in many Australian reservoir systems. Featuring and parallel swing side shift, as well as full tilt and rotate capability this unit is designed to operate underwater. The specially designed clamping pads can be quickly reconfigured to enable the grab to position bridge beams as well as the concrete stop logs.
